Petrochemical Industry
High-pressure reactors for hydrogenation, additives, and petroleum refining processes
Petrochemical reactions operate at the edge of what pressure vessels handle. Hydrogenation at 15–20 MPa. High-temperature cracking. Corrosive sulfur compounds. These are not conditions where you cut corners. Our reactors are designed, manufactured, and tested to ASME Section VIII standards for exactly these demanding applications.
Industry Challenges
High-pressure hydrogen attacks steel microstructure. Standard 304/316L can suffer hydrogen embrittlement above certain temperature-pressure combinations. Material selection is critical.
H₂S-containing environments cause cracking in susceptible alloys. Correct material grade (316L mod, duplex, or clad) prevents premature failure.
Cyclic heating and cooling during batch operations creates thermal stress. Poor jacket design leads to hot spots and premature vessel wall degradation.
Our Approach
Reactors rated up to 20 MPa. Multi-layer coil or external loop designs for efficient heat removal. Hydrogen service rated magnetic coupling seals.
We select materials based on your specific medium composition — H₂S partial pressure, chloride content, temperature profile. Not a generic recommendation.
Jacket inlet/outlet positioned to avoid direct impingement. Internal coils spaced for uniform temperature distribution. Thermal stress calculated during design.
